All news- Library Service Confirms Opening of Seven Branches
Seven branch libraries at the principal sites of the Network open between Monday 7 September and Friday 11 September 2026. Locations, opening days and hours are published from today.
- Library Service Opens Membership to Staff and Citizens of the Network
Membership of the Library Service is open from today to the staff of member organisations and citizens of the Network, without charge. Applications are made by email and cards are collected at any branch from 7 September 2026.
- Library Service Launches Digital Collections and Publishes First Loan Figures
The digital collections open to members from today with 41,800 e-book and audiobook titles, 140 periodicals and the official publications of the Network. The Service's first statistical release records 61,250 loans during the transition period.
About the Library Service
The Library Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for the branch libraries at the principal sites of the Velocity Interoperability Network, for membership and lending, and for the digital collections available to every member.
It holds 214,600 physical items and 41,800 digital titles, receives on deposit the official publications of the Network's departments and offices, and provides study places, reference enquiries and reading programmes at every branch.
