Branches
The Library Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network operates seven branch libraries at the principal sites of the Velocity Interoperability Network. Six of them are the former reading rooms of member organisations, transferred to the Service at establishment and reopened under common opening hours, a single catalogue and a single membership. The seventh, the Transit Reading Room at the Transport Interchange, is new.
The branches open between Monday 7 September and Friday 11 September 2026. Members may borrow and return items at any branch regardless of where their membership was issued, and items reserved from the catalogue may be collected at the branch of the member's choice.

Closures. All branches are closed on the public holidays of the Network. Planned closures for maintenance, and any change to the hours above, are announced in the Newsroom at least seven days in advance. Items that fall due on a day a branch is closed may be returned on the next day it is open without being treated as overdue.
Study rooms. The study rooms at the Central Library and the University Branch seat four to twelve people and may be booked by members for up to three hours a day. Bookings are made at the enquiry desk or by writing to the Service, and are confirmed by email. Rooms not claimed within fifteen minutes of the booked time are released.
Access. Every branch has step-free access to all public floors, an accessible reading desk with adjustable height, and large-print and audio editions of popular titles. Members who cannot visit a branch may ask the Service to send loans to another branch closer to them, or to hold items for collection by a named person.
Enquiries about a branch may be sent to contact@libraries.gov.vin. For the conditions of joining, see Membership; for loan periods and reservations, see Borrowing; for the programmes held at each branch, see Services and Programmes.
